Spreading Holiday Cheer

WELCOME TO THE 2018
KOLAK CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW WEBSITE

We are so glad you could join us! The Kolak Christmas Light Show is a show created by Kevin Kolak that displays christmas lights synchronized to music. This website is to share information for the Kolak Christmas Light Show for you to view it either in person or online. Check out the cause for this year below and leave feedback either on our Facebook page or on the feedback page.

If you’ve seen the show before, you’re going to be noticing some big changes! We are transitioning from incandescent lights to pixel lights. We have some similar features around the yard, but by replacing the each bulb with a pixel containing a computer chip, it can be controlled independently of the other lights surrounding it. We can’t wait for you to see everything this new show has to offer!

Tune in to 100.3 FM to hear the songs that the lights are synchronized to.

***Due to technical difficulties the light show Opening Night has been postponed until December 1, 2018.***
See the light shows live, starting on December 1, 2018

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 5:30 - 10:00 PM | Friday & Saturday 5:30 - 10:30 PM.

We are continuing the Christmas tradition of helping others by collecting donations to support a local cause. Thank you to all who contributed in the past years! The light show is played for a 5 week span over the holidays, and during this time we accept donations. Last year we were completely overwhelmed when we were able to give $10,061.00 to Avielle Zerance, who was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a childhood disease of the liver. After she was able to have a liver transplant, she developed a cancer associated with organ donation and with treatment reached remission, but continues to live with the risks that come with those illnesses and treatments. We were amazed by the support received in 2016 for the Bankert family who lost Alan, husband and father of four, in a car accident. It was an honor to give them $8,879.00 in donations from the Light Show. In 2015, we donated $6,823 to Gracelyn Snyder as she was battling JMML, a rare form of Leukemia. In 2014, we were able to collect $6,252 which was donated to Deven Jackson for custom running blades after Meningitis led to the amputation of both his legs. The previous year we we donated $2,487 to Vaughn Schlachter during his battle with AML (a form of Leukemia). Before that we donated $1,774 to Hope Parente in her battle against brain cancer. You can read more about each story in the Previous Years pages found in the menu. To sum it up, each year the support of our community astounds us and we thank you!
{new this year}  This year’s recipient was chosen after several members of the community reached out to us and told us about an amazing 13-year-old named, Lorelei McIntyre-Brewer. Lorelei is the daughter of Major Steven Brewer and Chelle McIntyre-Brewer, of Duncannon. She was born with a condition known as Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), which means she has no left side of her heart. To some, she’s known as #thegirlwiththebrokenheart.
As you can imagine, a condition like this requires significant medical attention which up to this point has included over 30 procedures and 3 open heart surgeries. Her life has been spent in and out of hospitals in the company of her service dog, Mandu. Because Lorelei’s heart is so unique – and her diagnosis rare – there are many aspects of her care that are considered “off label” and not covered by insurance. Not to mention the everyday costs that accompany serious conditions like this.

Though Lorelei was born with half a heart, every day her actions reflect a heart bigger than you can imagine. When she’s not braving through another procedure, or living the life of a 13-year-old, she and her mother are tending to the non-profit organization, Heart Hugs, which she created to distribute pediatric heart pillows to children after open heart surgery. She realized the relief this type of pillow could provide after her second surgery – it is designed to help the recovery of a broken sternum, a requirement of all open heart surgeries. She has distributed 15,000 pillows across 36 states and 22 countries, including the cardiac center at CHOP. You can find out more by visiting the facebook page, Heart Hugs.  When asked about her daughter, Chelle commented that it sometimes feels like Lorelei has come from another world, she has insights that many, including adults, will never quite understand.
It would benefit all of us to take a page out of Lorelei’s book, and we want to do everything we can to help her meet her medical needs and remain the upbeat, positive influence that she is. This has been a particularly difficult year for Lorelei, let's make it count! 100% of the donations received during this year’s show will be giving to Lorelei and her family.

If you have enjoyed our light shows, please consider making a contribution towards this cause by placing your donation in the slotted box sitting on top of the lighted "Listen to the Lights" sign.
Or, contributions can be mailed to 1976 Shermans Valley Road, Elliottsburg, PA 17024.

Please make any checks payable to Kevin Kolak and write Lorelei McIntyre-Brewer in the memo line.

Please keep Lorelei and her family in your prayers this Holiday Season.

**100% of the contributions will go to Lorelei and her Family**

Grand Total in Donations: $7,300
