WELCOME TO THE 2020 KOLAK CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW WEBSITE
We are so glad you could join us! The Kolak Christmas Light Show is a show created by Kevin Kolak that displays christmas lights synchronized to music. This website is to share information for the Kolak Christmas Light Show for you to view it either in person or online. Check out the cause for this year below and leave feedback either on our Facebookpage or on the feedback page.
If you’ve seen the show before, you’re going to be noticing some big changes! We are transitioning from incandescent lights to pixel lights. We have some similar features around the yard, but by replacing the each bulb with a pixel containing a computer chip, it can be controlled independently of the other lights surrounding it. We can’t wait for you to see everything this new show has to offer! Tune in to 100.3 FM to hear the songs that the lights are synchronized to.
See the light shows live, starting on November 28, 2020 Hours:Sunday–Thursday5:45 - 9:30 PM | Friday & Saturday5:45 - 10:30 PM (possibly 11PM depending on traffic).
We are continuing the Christmas tradition of helping others by collecting donations to support a local cause. Thank you to all who contributed in the past years! The light show is played for a 5 week span over the holidays, and during this time we accept donations. Last year, we were able to raise $7,244 for Tina Berry for costs while she battled cancer. Even amid some technical difficulties, we collected $7,300 for Lorelei McIntyre-Brewer, who was born with Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), which means she has no left side of her heart. To some, she’s known as #thegirlwiththebrokenheart. 2-years ago, we were completely overwhelmed when we were able to give $10,061.00 to Avielle Zerance, who was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a childhood disease of the liver. After she was able to have a liver transplant, she developed a cancer associated with organ donation and with treatment reached remission, but continues to live with the risks that come with those illnesses and treatments. We were amazed by the support received in 2016 for the Bankert family who lost Alan, husband and father of four, in a car accident. It was an honor to give them $8,879.00 in donations from the Light Show. In 2015, we donated $6,823 to Gracelyn Snyder as she was battling JMML, a rare form of Leukemia. In 2014, we were able to collect $6,252 which was donated to Deven Jackson for custom running blades after Meningitis led to the amputation of both his legs. The previous year we we donated $2,487 to Vaughn Schlachter during his battle with AML (a form of Leukemia). Before that we donated $1,774 to Hope Parente in her battle against brain cancer. You can read more about each story in the Previous Years pages found in the menu. To sum it up, each year the support of our community astounds us and we thank you!
{new this year} This year we welcome our recipient Jill Shope Adair. She Is a West Perry graduate with the class of 1997 and is the wife of Derrick Adair who is also a WP grad. They have 2 beautiful little girls, Tobin age 4 and Allie age 2.
In September of 2019, Jill began experiencing persistent stabbing shoulder pain every time she inhaled. Like you and I, she thought she had pulled a muscle. After all, she was constantly lifting her 1 and 3 yr old girls. She fully expected her primary care physician to prescribe physical therapy. Instead, She was sent for a CT scan.
Jills CT scan showed spots on the top of her liver and on her lungs. She was told that these spots indicated cancer but that additional tests would be required. While driving her girls home from daycare one Friday afternoon she received the call...they found additional spots on her liver and a single suspected tumor on her colon. It’s Not the kind of call you want to get while driving with your kids in the car.
Jill had a colonoscopy that found the tumor. It was biopsied to confirm stage 4b colon cancer. Treatment started almost immediately as a Mediport for chemo was put into place.
Jill is scheduled for surgery on January 5th at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital for implantation of the HAI pump, removal of some of the liver tumors, and resection of a portion of her colon. Your donations are not necessarily for medical bills but for the things insurance does not cover. Let's come together as a community and help Jill through this holiday season.
If you have enjoyed our light shows, please consider making a contribution towards this cause by placing your donation in the slotted box sitting on top of the lighted "Listen to the Lights" sign. Or, contributions can be mailed to 1976 Shermans Valley Road, Elliottsburg, PA 17024. Please make any checks payable to Kevin Kolak and write Jill Shope Adair in the memo line.
Please keep Jill and her family in your prayers this Holiday Season. **100% of the contributions will go to Jill Shope Adair** Grand Total in Donations:
Thank you all for supporting our cause, and helping a local family during this holiday season! This light show is our way of wishing you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
