Spreading Holiday Cheer

WELCOME TO THE 2017
KOLAK CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW WEBSITE

We are so glad you could join us! The Kolak Christmas Light Show is a show created by Kevin Kolak that displays christmas lights synchronized to music. This website is to share information for the Kolak Christmas Light Show; you can view it either in person or online. Check out the cause for this year below and leave feedback either on our Facebook page or on the feedback page.

Again this year, we are bringing you 2 separate shows playing on alternating nights. One show will play on even calendar days and the other show will play on odd calendar days. We have included 2 of our favorites, Amazing Grace and the Hallelujah Chorus, in both shows and new this year but as always have mixed in some new songs too. Visit the Behind the Show for the complete track lists.

Tune in to 100.3 FM to hear the songs that the lights are synchronized to.
See the light shows live, starting on November 25, 2017

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 5:30 - 10:00 PM | Friday & Saturday 5:30 - 10:30 PM.

We are continuing the Christmas tradition of helping others by collecting donations to support a local cause. Thank you to all who contributed in the past years! The light show is played for a 5 week span over the holidays. We were amazed by the support received last year for the Bankert family who lost Alan, husband and father of four, in a car accident. We were honored to give them $8,879.00 in donations from the Light Show. In 2015, we donated $6,823 to Gracelyn Snyder as she was battling JMML, a rare form of Leukemia. In 2014, we were able to collect $6,252 which was donated to Deven Jackson for custom running blades after Meningitis led to the amputation of both his legs. The previous year we we donated $2,487 to Vaughn Schlachter during his battle with AML (a form of Leukemia). Before that we donated $1,774 to Hope Parente in her battle against brain cancer.
{new this year}  This year our thoughts and prayers are for Avielle, the daughter of West Perry graduates Ben ('97) and Julia (Rosado, '01) Zerance. Avielle is the youngest of 4; she has one brother, Oliver, and two sisters, Joclyn and Lacey. 2 weeks after Avielle was born, she went to the doctor for a routine checkup who noticed that she was not gaining weight at the rate that she should have been. Some blood work was taken and she was immediately taken to Geisinger and admitted for 2 days. When the results of additional blood work were known, Avielle was transferred to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where the final diagnosis was made. Avielle had Biliary Atresia.
Biliary Atresia is a childhood disease of the liver, and Avielle had few options. 4 days after arriving at CHOP, now only 3 weeks old, she had her first surgery attempting to resolve the issue. While they had hoped for the best and that this surgery would provide a permanent solution for her liver, 2 months after the surgery Avielle's labs indicated that the surgery had failed. The only remaining option would be a liver transplant. Due to a scoring system that ranks the severity of the patient's need, Avielle was placed low on the transplant list. Finally, when she was 1, she was able to receive a transplant from someone incredibly special to her, her mother, Julia.

The transplant went well but a short 3 months after the transplant, Avielle developed PTLD which is a cancer that results as a complication from organ transplants. She battled the cancer with 6 months of chemotherapy, each treatment requiring her to travel to CHOP in Philadelphia, and had several hospital stays in the process. The cancer is now in remission.

Avielle looks and acts like any other 4-year-old and lives her life to the fullest. This being the case, she will still have challenges to face and more trips to the doctors ahead of her. Just before Thanksgiving, she had a 7-day stay at CHOP that began with a high fever. The diagnosis ended up being that she had multiple viral illnesses, affecting her so greatly because of her compromised immune system. Avielle is an incredibly brave girl taking on more than any child should have to, and that is why we have chosen to give all donations collected from this year's Kolak Christmas Light Show to Avielle and her family.

If you have enjoyed our light shows, please consider making a contribution towards this cause by placing your donation in the slotted box sitting on top of the lighted "Listen to the Lights" sign.
Or, contributions can be mailed to 1976 Shermans Valley Road, Elliottsburg, PA 17024.

Please make any checks payable to Kevin Kolak and write Avielle Zerance in the memo line.

Please keep Avielle and her family in your prayers this Holiday Season.
